Introduction

The purpose of this report is to describe how Star Pharmacy performs one of its dynamic processes and one of its structured processes, identifying the information system and softwares used, recognizing the sources of problems along the current business process management and generating potential recommendations to improve or add to the current or new business process management system. Star Pharmacy, with legal business name as Wasim Corporation, is a community and retail pharmacy established in 1996, with only one location in Edison, New Jersey. Store hours are Monday to Friday from 9:30am - 6:30pm, Saturdays, open 11:00am - 4:00pm, and closed on Sundays. Star Pharmacy offers a variety of services to customers, from prescriptions to individual consultive and guidance programs, health screenings, immunizations and medical equipment. Some of the critical business processes are inventory management, sales process, patient prescription process, prescription deliveries, and covid testing. Two of the business processes we decided to focus on are the procurement process, which is structured, and the patient prescription process, which is dynamic.

Star Pharmacy, an affiliate of Sheefa Pharmacy, is committed to providing quality care services to patients with certified, well-trained staff readily available to dispense prescriptions and provide healthcare and wellness information specific to his or her needs. Star Pharmacy strives to offer the best customer care service with accessible products such as medical equipment, medications, immunizations, and guidance to wellness through education and consultation assistance.

  Conclusion Overall, we learned much about Star Pharmacy on how it operates its dynamic and structured process, and the information systems used for the processes. Based on the information, we were able to identify the sources of issues within the current system and recommend a few changes to the procurement and patient prescription process. Team 5 recommends the implementation of the inventory software, InventoryX, and Med Central website as a collaboration tool for Star Pharmacy to improve the dynamic and structured process. InventoryX database software tool will enable the business to become more profitable and earn more value and the collaboration tool will enable the business to retain more customers through the user-friendly website and complete customer requests more effectively.
