Introduction and implementation of a new database software system, InventoryX integrated to ComputerRX
Hire a team of software developers for creation of the software
They will integrate the software to the ComputerRX system
Payment to software developers
Multi-user software licensing (all employees are permitted to use software)
Star Pharmacy’s owner or MIS manager agrees to the Software License Agreement along with its terms and conditions
The business is licensed to use the new software system. Make customizations if necessary (restricted access or full access - depending on employee or job)
Cutover method - start using the new software system immediately (permissible for all employees)
Everyone must be on the same page when it comes to knowing the ins and outs of InventoryRX to cut down on errors such as excess ordering that leads to dead stock. When switching over to the new software, it is imperative that all employees complete a training program for InventoryX. Included in this software, InventoryX, will be different modules and mock training activities discussing the proper search codes for different medications, how to transmit orders, apply gift cards, and discounts. After new employees have completed the software training programs, they are permitted to start using the InventoryX software. The implementation of Inventory X will be focused on the efficiency objective where all inventory orders will be placed automatically. All inventory, prescriptions and OTC products will be ordered through the InventoryX software as soon as the prescriptions arrive as a form of batch control in order to prevent any dead stock and pharmacists will be able to see how many customers’ orders were completed. Some of the key performance indicators we would like to implement are measurement in the decrease (if any) in dead stock through this inventory software, is there batch control for applicable items, and how much excess stock/inventory we had within a week and within 2 weeks, how many orders are able to be placed, how many customers’ orders were completed in a day or week, and the amount of savings with executing batch control.
